INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 12, 2018) – HRI Properties today announced that the dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels in downtown Indianapolis have reached their final construction height or “topping out.” Expected to open in 2019, the dual-branded hotels will represent a prominent landmark within central downtown and will create an experience that enables guests to enjoy the benefits of both brands under one roof.
Developed and constructed by HRI Properties, the 15-story building will consist of a 186-room Hyatt Place hotel and a 130-room Hyatt House hotel. Amenities will include valet parking, over 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, a rooftop swimming pool and fitness facilities, a second-floor indoor/outdoor lobby bar that overlooks Pennsylvania Street, and over 13,000 square feet of ground floor retail space available for rent to third party tenants. The overall development will also include construction of an adjacent 387-space parking garage to serve both hotel guests and the general public.
“We’re very excited to reach this construction milestone on the dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels. HRI Properties is honored to collaborate with the City of Indianapolis to bring this new and dynamic product to the marketplace. This development will be a great example of our continued focus on growing premium hotels that will attract business and leisure travelers alike,” said A. Thomas Leonhard, president and chief executive officer of HRI Properties. “I want to offer my congratulations and thanks to everyone who collaborated with us on this project.”
The dual-branded hotels will be located in downtown Indianapolis’ historic Wholesale District at the corner of South Pennsylvania Street and East Georgia Street, facing the main entrance of Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers. Both properties will be managed by HRI Hospitality.
