HYATT PLACE AND HYATT HOUSE INDIANAPOLIS DOWNTOWN NAMES GENERAL MANAGER

HRI Hospitality has appointed Rick Schatz as the general manager for the dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Schatz will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s management, including operations, sales, marketing, security, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting.

Prior to HRI Hospitality, Schatz was the resort manager of the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Massachusetts and served as the director of operations at Le Meridien New Orleans from 2016-2018.

His career in hospitality management brings an impressive wealth of experience to the role including vast expertise in leadership development, strategic financial planning and execution of high service standards.
Schatz also holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with department honors from the University of Redlands.

“Rick’s wide-ranging experience in hotel management makes him eminently qualified to lead the day-to-day operations of this unique property,” said Larry Daniels, vice president of operations at HRI Hospitality. “I am fully confident that Rick’s management expertise will be a perfect fit for our upstanding team.”

Developed and constructed by HRI Properties, the 15-story building consists of a 186-room Hyatt Place hotel and a 130-room Hyatt House hotel. Amenities include valet parking, over 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, a swimming pool and fitness facilities, a second-floor indoor/outdoor lobby bar that overlooks Pennsylvania Street, and over 13,000 square feet of ground floor retail space available for rent to third party tenants. The overall development also includes an adjacent 387-space parking garage to serve both hotel guests and the general public.

The dual-branded hotel is located in downtown Indianapolis’ historic Wholesale District at the corner of South Pennsylvania Street and East Georgia Street, facing the main entrance of Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers. The property is scheduled to open in April 2019 and will be managed by HRI Hospitality.
