Carey Slocum
Vice President of Development Finance
As Vice President of Development Finance, Carey leads the Development Finance department for HRI, which supports both HRI Properties’ Lodging/Mixed-Use and HRI Communities’ Mixed-Income/Affordable Housing business units. The Development Finance department is responsible for the financial and asset management of development projects from concept through operations and draws upon extensive experience in complex financial structuring and compliance, including working with Federal and State Historic Tax Credits, Federal and State New Market Tax Credits, Federal and State Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Community Development Block Grants, HOME funding, HUD financing and additional development incentives. With over 10 years of financial analysis experience at HRI, Carey brings a resourceful intellect and a sharp eye to the challenges of financing new development activities on a large scale. Since joining HRI in 2009, Carey has overseen the financial management and financial closing of projects totaling over $600 million in combined development costs.
Prior to joining HRI, Carey was an Investment Banking Analyst for Morgan Joseph TriArtisan. She received her Masters of Finance and Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University.
